Name: Lois Smedshammer Date: March 23rd, 1933 - July 26th, 2010 Obituary: Lois Jean Larson was born March 23, 1933 in Valley City, North Dakota, the daughter of Alget and Dagny Larson (Larsen). She attended and graduated from Litchville High School in 1951. She was united in marriage to Burton Smedshammer on September 14, 1959 in Valley City. They farmed south of Litchville in the North LaMoure community for 32 years. Lois worked as an ambulance EMT in Valley City and was also a secretary for the Litchville School and Farm Bureau. They retired in 1991. Lois loved baking, cooking, sewing, gardening and traveling. She and her sons and families traveled to Europe several times and also traveled to Hong Kong and Vietnam. Burton and her traveled to Hawaii several times and also many other parts of the United States. Burton died April 28, 2001. She was a former member of North LaMoure Lutheran Church and was a member of Spring Creek Lutheran Church, Hastings, North Dakota. Lois is survived by four sons and their families, Kerry Brush, Federal Way, WA,and daughter, Treona; Bucky Brush (Rose), Milwaukee, WI and son, Matthew; Darris Smedshammer (Marreta), Chelsea, MI and two sons, Isaac and Jacob; and Dru Smedshammer (Margo), Caldwell, Idaho, and son, Findley. A sister-in-law, Joann Larson, West Fargo, North Dakota also survives. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Dennis Larson, and a daughter-in-law, Donna Brush.
